James “Jay” Murphy has been a licensed attorney since 1989. Originally from Northern California, he worked as a law clerk for the Colorado Court of Appeals in Denver before moving to Colorado Springs in 1990.
From 1990 through 1995, Mr. Murphy worked in civil litigation with two large Colorado insurance-defense firms, representing individuals, insurance companies, and corporations. Since forming McCormick & Murphy, P.C. with Kirk McCormick in 1995, he has focused on representing people with serious injury and death claims.
